Choosing a blog topic can turn into an afternoon of handoffs. Look up related keywords, check what already ranks, find useful sources, then bring everything back to the conversation where someone has to decide what to write.
The research tools are useful. Rebuilding the context between them is the expensive part.
We've integrated Treg into Coherence so teams can enable supported research tools and use them from Chat. An administrator chooses which tools the workspace can use, who can use them, and how much a call may spend. People can then ask for the research outcome in ordinary language.
Here's how that fits into the workspace, how to get started, and where the integration's current boundaries sit.

Start with this tour of Treg in Coherence, then use the setup steps below to choose the tools that fit your team.
What Treg brings to Coherence
Treg provides a catalog and a common access point for tools from different providers. In Coherence, that catalog becomes a place to browse providers and enable eligible research capabilities without turning every research request into a separate integration project.
The integration includes Exa web research and DataForSEO keyword research routes, alongside supported tools from Treg's live catalog. The catalog is broader than the set of tools Coherence can execute: appearing in search doesn't automatically make a tool available to your agents.
Each newly added catalog tool starts disabled. Its workspace policy determines whether it can run in Chat or in background work, which roles can use it, and its per-call credit limit. Background access is a separate choice rather than a side effect of enabling Chat access.
That gives a small team a practical starting point: enable a few tools for one recurring job, then expand when the workflow earns it.
Start with a research question
Consider a team planning content for a landscaping business. A useful request might be:
Find a useful blog topic about rainwater harvesting for a small landscaping business. Compare related keywords, check public sources, and explain the most promising angle with links. Keep missing metrics clearly marked.
This is an example brief, not a claim of a particular research result. With the relevant tools enabled, Chat can discover eligible capabilities, use keyword results to inform a follow-up web search, and bring the findings back into the discussion. You don't need to supply provider names or API instructions in the prompt.
The human decision still matters. Keyword metrics are provider estimates; they don't prove demand from your customers. A source link gives you something to inspect; it doesn't make every claim on that page reliable. Check the evidence and choose the angle before committing the team to a draft.
Once the research is useful, the discussion can continue alongside the tasks, documents, and customer context already in Coherence. The Treg research call itself doesn't publish an article or change a CRM record. Those next steps use their own supported workflows and permissions.
Enable the tools your team needs
An administrator or another user with permission to manage integrations can set up a focused workflow:
- Open Settings → Account → Integrations.
- Find Treg and choose Manage tools.
- Browse categories or search for a provider or capability. Inspect the tool's availability and setup requirements.
- Enable a supported tool, choose Chat and any permitted background use, and set role restrictions and a per-call credit limit.
- Save the policy, then try a small research request in Chat and review the returned sources and usage.
The Enabled tab is the place to review the tools you've made available. Browsing the catalog makes no billable provider calls; executing a paid research tool uses credits under the workspace's policy.
For catalog tools, Coherence reserves the configured allowance before a call and sends the spending ceiling to Treg. Treg can reject a request that exceeds that ceiling before it reaches the provider. Actual reported usage is settled afterward, and unused reserved credits are released. Chat model usage is accounted for separately.
A catalog entry is not blanket access
Coherence currently supports eligible public-data research tools that return results within the request. The Treg integration does not yet connect private customer accounts through OAuth or customer-supplied provider credentials, execute external actions such as sending messages or changing campaigns, or manage asynchronous provider jobs.
Use public questions, keywords, and domains as research inputs. Keep private records, credentials, and unpublished documents out of those requests.
Permissions continue to apply when a tool is discovered, executed, or a saved result is reused. If an enabled tool's access, input, or pricing contract changes, execution pauses until an administrator reviews and saves it again. A provider failure should remain visible rather than quietly sending the request through a different route.
Give one recurring research job a better home
Start with the question your team keeps answering: which topic to write about, what public evidence supports an account brief, or which related keywords deserve a closer look. Enable the tools that question needs, set a sensible allowance, and inspect the first results together.
The useful change is having the research, its evidence, and the team's decision close enough that the next person can follow the reasoning. Explore Coherence Chat, browse Coherence integrations, or use our AI prospect research guide to write a more specific brief.
Integration details checked against Coherence's current implementation and Treg's API documentation on September 25, 2026. Tool eligibility and provider availability can change.
