Campaign Performance and Troubleshooting

Interpret campaign metrics and resolve common enrollment, journey, and delivery issues

Campaign reporting combines activity from emails linked to the campaign.

Available metrics

The Campaigns list and detail page show:

  • Emails — Number of linked campaign emails.
  • Sent — Total delivery attempts counted for the campaign.
  • Opened — Recipients with recorded opens.
  • Clicked — Recipients with recorded link clicks.
  • Open rate — Opens divided by sent.
  • Click rate — Clicks divided by sent.
  • Click-to-open rate — Clicks divided by opens.

Open and click tracking depends on recipient email clients and privacy settings. Treat these metrics as directional engagement signals rather than perfect proof that a person read a message.

The Performance tab currently provides campaign summary metrics. Time-series trends and revenue attribution are not yet shown on that surface.

Automatic enrollment is not happening

Check all of the following:

  1. The campaign status is Active.
  2. Enable automatic enrollment is selected and the Enrollment rule was saved.
  3. The triggering record, event, account, or user was created after the relevant rule was enabled.
  4. A module-record source contains a valid value in its configured email field.
  5. An external event uses the exact configured event name and includes a valid recipient email and idempotency key.
  6. A product-signup user matches the selected recipient scope and role.
  7. Include users who join later is enabled when future workspace members should enroll.

Review Recent enrollments first. If the recipient appears there, enrollment worked and the next checks should focus on the Journey and Sending provider.

A recipient enrolled but no email was sent

Check that:

  • At least one Journey step exists and is enabled.
  • The first step's delay has elapsed.
  • Every step uses an email linked to this campaign.
  • The selected sending provider is Active.
  • The campaign remains Active.
  • The recipient address is not excluded or suppressed.
  • The email and sender configuration are valid.

An email does not appear in the Journey picker

Open the email under Campaigns → Emails, select the parent campaign in Link campaign, and save it. Only emails linked to the current campaign can be used as Journey steps.

A provider does not appear in the Journey picker

Open Campaigns → Sending and confirm the provider is configured and Active. Outreach social-publishing channels do not appear in the Campaigns provider picker.

A user who joined later did not enroll

For the Coherence product-signup trigger, confirm:

  • The recipient scope includes the user's current workspace role.
  • Include users who join later is enabled.
  • The user is active.
  • The user joined after the rule was enabled.
  • The campaign was Active, or has since been returned to Active so pending events can be processed.

A recipient did not restart the journey

This is usually expected when the re-entry policy is Once ever. The same recipient is also prevented from creating a duplicate live enrollment.

If the business event is legitimately repeatable, use Once per unique event and provide a stable unique idempotency key for each occurrence. Do not change onboarding campaigns to permissive re-entry merely to capture users who join later.

Audience and Enrollment totals do not match

An Audience and a Campaign Enrollment are different recipient mechanisms. Dynamic audiences resolve at broadcast send time, while enrollments are durable entries into a journey. Exclusions, suppression, role scope, record timing, and re-entry rules can also create intentional differences.

Pausing and resuming

Pausing stops normal automatic campaign activity without deleting progress. When the campaign becomes Active again, overdue work may be eligible immediately. Review the Journey, Enrollment rule, and provider before resuming a campaign that has been paused for an extended period.
