Account Switcher
Stack multiple Coherence accounts in one browser and switch between them with a click — no logging out, no re-typing passwords.
If you work across more than one Coherence workspace — your own company, a client's, a side project — you don't need a separate browser profile or an incognito window for each. The account switcher lets you stack multiple identities in one browser and flip between them in one click, the same way Twitter/X and Slack handle multiple accounts.
Each entry in the switcher is a fully separate identity — its own email, its own workspace, its own data and billing. Coherence remembers all of them locally on this browser so you stay signed in to each one.
Opening the switcher
Click your workspace name and avatar in the top-left of the sidebar. The dropdown shows every account remembered on this browser, with a checkmark next to the one currently active.

Adding another account
Click Add account in the switcher. You'll be sent to the sign-in page with a banner reminding you that you're stacking another identity onto this browser, not replacing the active one.
From there you have two options:
Sign in to an existing workspace
Enter the email and password for any other Coherence workspace you have access to. After signing in, you're returned to the app with that workspace active and your previous one waiting in the switcher.
You can also use Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft — the SSO flow joins the same device wallet.
Create a brand-new workspace
If the email you want to stack doesn't have a Coherence workspace yet, click Create a new workspace from the sign-in page. The signup flow runs end-to-end: you'll pick a workspace name, verify the email, and land in the new workspace with the previous one available in the switcher.
The new workspace is created from scratch — it gets its own subscription (Starter trial by default), its own seat count, its own tenant data. Nothing is shared with the workspaces you're already in.
Creating a workspace this way is the fastest path when you want to spin up a separate space for a side project, a client engagement, or a personal account — no sign-out dance required.
Switching accounts
Click any inactive account in the switcher. Coherence reloads with that workspace active. Your previous account stays in the switcher — switch back any time.
You stay signed in to all of them. The switch is instant; you never re-enter a password.
Managing remembered accounts
Open Settings → Accounts to see every identity remembered on this browser, with a few extra options the dropdown doesn't show.
Remove an account
Click the trash icon next to any non-active account to remove it from this browser. The session is signed out on the server too, so the next time you want to use that account you'll need to sign in fresh.
Sign out current account
The standard Sign out button signs you out of the active account only. If you have other accounts in the switcher, Coherence drops you into the next one automatically. If the switcher is empty, you go back to the sign-in page.
Sign out of all accounts
In Settings → Accounts, the Sign out of all accounts button clears every identity from this browser in one shot. Use this on shared or borrowed devices.
How it works
A few details worth knowing:
- Up to 5 accounts per browser. If you add a sixth, the least-recently-used one is dropped.
- Per-browser, not per-user. The switcher is local to each browser/device — your phone won't see the accounts you've stacked on your laptop, and vice versa.
- Each workspace is fully separate. Different subscriptions, different billing, different team members, different data. Your activity in one workspace is invisible to admins of the other.
- One identity per workspace. If you try to add an identity that's already remembered, Coherence switches into the existing one instead of duplicating it.
- Refresh tokens rotate on switch. When you switch into an account, its session credentials are refreshed under the hood so the bundle stays secure.
Privacy
Workspace admins cannot see which other workspaces a user is part of. Each workspace's view of you is limited to that workspace's data — your name, your role, your activity inside that tenant. The switcher itself lives entirely in your browser.
Audit logs in each workspace continue to record your actions in that workspace, scoped to your identity in that workspace. Switching between accounts is logged for security but not surfaced cross-workspace.
Common questions
What if I have the same email in two different workspaces? Today, each switcher entry is keyed to one email + one workspace. Stacking the same email in multiple workspaces under one identity is on the roadmap — for now, you'd add each as a separate entry.
Does the switcher work on mobile? Not yet. The mobile app supports a single account per device. Coming.
Can my admin see my other workspaces? No. The list is local to your browser and never sent to other workspaces' admins.
What happens if a workspace is deleted while I'm switched into it? You'll be returned to the sign-in page. Your other accounts stay in the switcher.
