Engaging with Posts

Draft responses, schedule posts, and track engagement

Once you've found high-intent posts, engagement is where you turn conversations into leads. Learn how to respond effectively without being spammy.

The Engagement Workflow

1. Review the Post

Click on any post to open the detail panel:

  • Full post content and context
  • Intent score and detected signals
  • Platform stats (upvotes, comments)
  • Link to original post

2. Set Status

Track your workflow with status labels:

StatusDescription
NewJust discovered, not yet reviewed
ReviewedYou've seen it, deciding on action
EngagedYou've responded or commented
ConvertedLed to a signup, demo, or sale
DismissedNot relevant, skip

3. Add Notes

Use notes for internal context:

  • "Follow up in 2 days"
  • "Competitor customer - handle carefully"
  • "Referred to Sarah for technical response"

4. Draft a Response

Click Draft Response to compose your reply:

  • Write directly in the composer
  • Preview character count (important for Twitter)
  • Save as draft or post immediately

Response Best Practices

Be Helpful First

Lead with value, not a sales pitch.

✅ Good:

"We ran into this exact issue. What worked for us was setting up automated follow-ups based on deal stage. Happy to share our setup if helpful."

❌ Bad:

"You should try our product! We're the best solution for this. Sign up at..."

Share Experience

Speak from personal experience, not marketing copy.

✅ Good:

"I used to spend 2 hours a day on manual data entry before we automated it. Game changer for our team."

❌ Bad:

"Our award-winning platform provides best-in-class automation capabilities..."

Ask Questions

Engage in conversation rather than one-way broadcasting.

✅ Good:

"Interesting challenge. What's your current stack? That'll help figure out the best approach."

Be Authentic

Use natural language matching the platform tone.

  • Reddit: Casual, community-focused
  • LinkedIn: Professional but personable
  • Twitter: Concise and direct

Scheduled Posting

Scheduled posting requires the Collaborate plan or higher.

Instead of posting immediately, schedule responses for optimal times:

  1. Draft your response
  2. Click Schedule instead of Post Now
  3. Choose date and time
  4. Confirm scheduling

Cooldown Tracking

Social platforms have posting limits. Coherence tracks cooldowns:

  • Reddit: Wait periods between posts in the same subreddit
  • Twitter: Rate limits per hour
  • LinkedIn: Daily posting recommendations

If a cooldown is active, you'll see when you can post next.

Content Calendar

View all scheduled posts across platforms:

  1. Go to Social Listening → Calendar
  2. See scheduled posts by day/week
  3. Edit or cancel scheduled posts

Team Collaboration

Team features require the Collaborate plan or higher.

Assign to Team Members

Route posts to the right person:

  1. Open the post detail panel
  2. Click Assign
  3. Select a team member
  4. Add optional notes

Activity Feed

Track all team actions on posts:

  • Who viewed/updated status
  • Response drafts and posts
  • Assignment changes

Tracking Conversions

When a social engagement leads to a result:

  1. Mark the post as Converted
  2. (Optional) Link to the resulting record in Coherence
  3. Conversion data appears in analytics

This helps measure ROI and refine your strategy.

Quick Actions

From the post feed, use quick actions without opening detail:

  • Mark reviewed - Acknowledge you've seen it
  • Dismiss - Skip irrelevant posts
  • Open original - Jump to the platform

Next: Review your performance in the analytics dashboard.
