Collab Templates
Save documents as reusable templates and start new docs from templates
Templates let you save any Collab document as a reusable starting point. Create once, use many times — for meeting notes, project briefs, onboarding checklists, and anything else your team creates regularly.
Saving a Template
- Open any Collab document
- Click Save as Template in the document toolbar
- Give the template a title and optional description
- Click Save
The template captures the full document structure — headings, lists, tables, and all block content.
Using a Template
- Click New Document in the Collab sidebar
- Click From Template (or the template icon)
- Browse the template picker
- Click a template to create a new doc pre-filled with its content
- Edit as needed — the template is not affected
Template Picker
The template picker has three tabs:

| All Templates | Templates available in your workspace |
| Marketplace | Community templates shared by other Coherence users |
| My Templates | Templates you created, with their submission status |
Managing Templates
Editing a Template
Templates are standalone documents. To update a template:
- Open the template from My Templates
- Edit the content
- Changes apply to future uses — existing docs created from the template are unaffected
Deleting a Template
- Open My Templates in the template picker
- Click the delete action on the template card
- Confirm deletion
Deleting a template does not affect documents already created from it.
Template Categories
Organize templates with categories:
- Meeting Notes — standup agendas, 1:1 templates, retrospective formats
- Project Management — briefs, status reports, launch plans
- Sales — proposal templates, discovery call notes, deal summaries
- HR & Onboarding — welcome docs, policy templates, review forms
- General — catch-all for uncategorized templates
