Collab Templates

Save documents as reusable templates and start new docs from templates

Templates let you save any Collab document as a reusable starting point. Create once, use many times — for meeting notes, project briefs, onboarding checklists, and anything else your team creates regularly.

Saving a Template

  1. Open any Collab document
  2. Click Save as Template in the document toolbar
  3. Give the template a title and optional description
  4. Click Save

The template captures the full document structure — headings, lists, tables, and all block content.

Using a Template

  1. Click New Document in the Collab sidebar
  2. Click From Template (or the template icon)
  3. Browse the template picker
  4. Click a template to create a new doc pre-filled with its content
  5. Edit as needed — the template is not affected

Template Picker

The template picker has three tabs:

TabShows
All TemplatesTemplates available in your workspace
MarketplaceCommunity templates shared by other Coherence users
My TemplatesTemplates you created, with their submission status

Managing Templates

Editing a Template

Templates are standalone documents. To update a template:

  1. Open the template from My Templates
  2. Edit the content
  3. Changes apply to future uses — existing docs created from the template are unaffected

Deleting a Template

  1. Open My Templates in the template picker
  2. Click the delete action on the template card
  3. Confirm deletion

Deleting a template does not affect documents already created from it.

Template Categories

Organize templates with categories:

  • Meeting Notes — standup agendas, 1:1 templates, retrospective formats
  • Project Management — briefs, status reports, launch plans
  • Sales — proposal templates, discovery call notes, deal summaries
  • HR & Onboarding — welcome docs, policy templates, review forms
  • General — catch-all for uncategorized templates
